Jet lag

 

Jet lag is when your normal sleep pattern is disturbed after a long flight or traveling through different hours. Some of the symptoms can be: difficulty sleeping at bedtime and waking up in the morning, tiredness and exhaustion, difficulty staying awake during the day…

Luckily, it usually improves after a few days as your body adjusts to the new time zone. Jet lag cannot be prevented, but there are things you can do to reduce its effects. Get plenty of rest before and during the travel, change your sleep schedule to the new time zone as quickly as possible. This means if, for example, you shouldn’t sleep during the day, only sleep at night time.

 

El trastorno del jet lag es un problema temporal que afecta al ciclo del sueño. Lo puede padecer cualquier persona que viaje y pase rápidamente por uno o más husos horarios diferentes. Esto se produce ya que el cuerpo tiene su reloj interno, indicando cuando debe de permanecer despierto o dormido. El desfase horario puede provocar fatiga diurna, malestar y dificultad para mantenerse alerta y problemas gastrointestinales. Es un problema temporal que suele remitir pasados unos días. Algunas formas de prevenir los síntomas más severos es mantenerse en el horario del país de destino, ya que eso te ayudará a la hora de tener un ciclo de sueño normal.
